Ring in the New Year with MITM

You’ve heard us say many times that one of the unique things about Martini in the Morning is our community of listeners – or as we like to call you, friends – from around the world. So when special occasions occur we love to get you all involved. With the new year fast approaching, this is a great example of one the ways in which you, yes YOU, can participate.

On New Year’s Eve we want to celebrate ‘on air’ as the clock strikes midnight and 2016 begins in each time zone all the way around the world. So, wherever you live around the world from New Zealand to Australia, Japan to the Middle East, Europe to UK, US to Canada and all the countries in-between (too many too mention here), we would love for you to record a New Year’s greeting using your phone’s voice recorder which we will then play at midnight in your time zone (further details below). We will begin the celebrations at 3 AM PT on Dec 31, when New Zealand welcomes in 2016.

In previous year’s we’ve shared some great new year’s greetings with you such as the time when Judy and John Lesniewski spoke to us all the way from Muscat, Oman; Vlad Aazarian greeted the new year in Moscow from Red Square; we’ve had our Lala from London play the chimes of Big Ben live from the TV in her living room as the clock struck midnight; Lauren from our Fun & Games department and her husband Tom have sent greetings from their annual New Year’s Eve trip to Disneyland; Jim and Ann Rust from Dunstable, England have also joined in the ‘on air’ celebrations; and our #1 Dean Martin fan in the world, Jasmina Blagojevic rang in the new year from a bar in Jagodina, Serbia.

Another special greeting came from Chris Gomm from Aylesbury, England. When the clock struck midnight he and his wife went up to the church steeple and chimed the church bells and our listeners got to share in this experience live on air … how cool is that!

So this year it could be YOU!

To take part send us an email now to newyears@martiniinthemorning.com (or fill in our online form) and we will send you more details with a guideline of what to say and how to submit your clips. It’s that easy!

We look forward to celebrating New Year’s with you around the world.
