Here are some quick guidelines to consider when you’re doing your recording:
- Length – 30 to 60 seconds is about right – a little more if that’s what it takes to really represent with feeling, gusto! Say it in your own words – be convincing!
- Introduce yourself – Something like:
HI, I’M FROM (city/state/country) - You might throw in something about your history with MITM, how long you’ve been listening, how you found the station, where you “Martini”
- Now tell us what it is that keeps you coming back – what’s special about the Martini in the Morning “Morning Show” with Brad & Mother Miriam – this is especially important with a lot of new people using new gadgets received over the holidays, to look for Internet radio stations – Let them know there’s something special on the air, mornings on MITM.
